A few days ago I finally bought me a proper portrait lens, namely the Canon’s 85mm 1.8 USM. Being one of the most popular lenses in Canon’s line-up it needs no special introduction. I got it used in an almost mint condition from a local photographer for a good price and I am really looking forward to see how it will perform at my next portrait session. Then I will, of course, report with the results. So far I had only so much time to test its performance on the street, which is not the setting this lens was actually designed for. But, for what I have seen already, I have reasons to believe it may improve my photography. At any event, it seems like a piece of glass that will bring me lots of joy.
